Minister for Foreign Affairs welcomes US House of Representatives’ support of Finucane family

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dermot Ahern, T.D. welcomed the passing this week by the US House of Representatives of a resolution in support of an independent public inquiry into the murder of Patrick Finucane.
The Minister said: “I welcome the US resolution, which was passed by almost the full House of Representatives. The Government has long supported the Finucane family, both at home and abroad in their campaign for a full, independent judicial inquiry into this murder. This was also the recommendation of Judge Peter Cory. I would urge the British Government to establish such an inquiry without further delay.”
