The Department of Foreign Affairs provides travel advice to Irish
people planning a trip overseas. This advice reflects a considered
assessment of the risks involved for Irish citizens travelling to
individual countries.
It is based on the best information available to the Department and
draws on reports from Irish Diplomatic and Consular Missions abroad
and advice issued by other countries including Member States of the
European Union.
While every effort is made to ensure that the advice offered is
accurate and up-to-date, it cannot be regarded as definitive or
comprehensive in all respects. The absence of specific advice in
relation to a particular country or region does not necessarily
mean that it is safe to travel there.
The situation can change rapidly from one day to the next and from
one part of a country to another. The final responsibility for
undertaking a trip must rest with the individual concerned and the
Department of Foreign Affairs cannot be held responsible for any
injury or loss suffered as a result of reliance on the information
provided in this website.
