Tánaiste extends sympathy on the death of Baroness Thatcher

Diplomatic Relations, Press Releases, Great Britain, 2013

The Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Eamon Gilmore T.D., has extended his sympathy to Foreign Secretary Hague and Secretary of State Villiers on the passing of Baroness Thatcher.

Speaking from Ankara in Turkey, where he is leading a trade delegation of Irish companies, the Tánaiste said:

“Baroness Thatcher was a hugely influential figure in British and global politics. Always controversial, her legacy is now for the historians. Today, I wish to extend my sympathies to her family and friends.”
