Celebrate Ireland’s national emblem, as Sydney marks Harp Day for the first time

Grab a picnic and enjoy Irish harp performances and talks in the Royal Botanic Garden

12.30 – 1.30pm, Friday 16th October, Maiden Pavilion and Band Lawn

The Consulate General of Ireland will mark Harp Day 2020 with renowned Irish harp players in the beautiful setting of the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. The musicians will join Irish harpists around the world in celebrating the instrument and its treasured place in Ireland’s heritage and culture.

This will be the first year in which Harp Day is marked in Sydney and it follows the awarding of UNESCO status of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity to the Irish Harp in 2019.

Please join us from 12.30pm on Friday 16th October at the Maiden Pavilion and Band Lawn in the Royal Botanic Garden as we celebrate the music of Ireland’s national emblem.

The event is presented in cooperation with Ms Cliona Molins and Harp Ireland. It will be staged outdoors and in accordance with Covid-safe guidelines.
