Executive Assistant - Embassy of Ireland, Paris.

The Embassy of Ireland, Paris has a vacancy for a full time executive assistant working to senior diplomatic staff.

The main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Liaise as directed with the French authorities;
  • Provide high quality administrative support primarily to diplomatic officers as necessary: keeping records, processing requests and maintaining information flows;
  • Handle phone calls, enquiries and requests;
  • Assist in the organisation of official visits and representational events;
  • Organise meetings internally and externally;
  • Attend and take minutes of meetings internally and externally;
  • Translation tasks from French to English and English to French;
  • Manage and prepare correspondence (in English or French as required) and maintain contacts database;
  • Undertake background research and draft and coordinate briefing material;
  • Work closely with other Embassy support staff and cover leaves of absence as necessary;
  • Other related duties and assisting in other aspects of the embassy's work, as required.

Required skills and experience:

Applications are invited from graduates with fluent English and French (written and spoken); additional postgraduate qualification(s) in subjects relevant to the work of the Embassy would be desirable.

A comprehensive knowledge of Ireland and of France is required. Candidates must show capacity for flexibility and be willing to work to meet deadlines, sometimes under pressure. Excellent communication, analytical, IT, social media, and organisational skills are required.

Salary

The basic gross salary will be €2,361.34 per month.

Candidates must be available for interview in Paris in December. A written test in English and French will be held on the same day as interviews.
