Embassy of Ireland in Latvia

Our mission is to promote and protect abroad the values, interests and economic well-being of Ireland and its people. We do this under the political direction of our Ministers, through our staff at home and through our Embassy network abroad.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The precise range of duties will vary over time according to the exigencies of the Embassy, but will include the following:

  • General housekeeping duties;

  • Attendance and serving at functions in the Residence; and

  • Any other tasks suitable to the post.

Duties may vary from time to time as notified in writing upon reasonable notice, based upon the requirements of the Employer.

Candidate profile:

To be eligible the following qualifications and competencies are required:

  • Good knowledge of Latvian and English; another language would be an advantage;

  • Relevant work experience in an international environment;

  • The legal right to work in Latvia; all locally hired staff are required to have a legal entitlement to live and work in the country prior to hiring.

Security Clearance for Local Staff

Security vetting will be sought in respect of individuals who come under consideration for appointment.
