Tánaiste as incoming OSCE Chairperson-in-Office meets with OSCE Minsk Group in Dublin
14 December 2011The Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Eamon Gilmore T.D., had a meeting in Dublin today with the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group in his capacity as incoming OSCE Chairperson-in-Office. The Minsk Group is committed to assisting the sides in achieving a lasting and peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Co-Chairs informed the Tánaiste about the current situation in relation to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict and recent developments in the peace process. The Tánaiste said:
“I strongly support the very important work being done by the OSCE’s Minsk Group in relation to the long-running dispute over Nagorno-Karabakh. We will maintain close contact with the Minsk Group throughout our Chairmanship next year and do everything in our power to advance the prospects for a lasting settlement of this conflict”.
The current Co-Chairs of the Minsk Group are Ambassadors Bernard Fassier of France, Robert Bradtke of the United States, and Igor Popov of the Russian Federation.
