Minister of State Creighton in London to discuss the European Agenda

European Union, Press Releases, Great Britain, 2011

The Minister of State for European Affairs, Lucinda Creighton TD, is in London today for a series of meetings to review the current EU agenda and to discuss with leading experts and researchers the evolution of EU policies. This visit forms part of the Government’s renewed and active engagement on European Union issues, and should provide a number of insights that can usefully inform our policy-making.

Minister Creighton’s first meeting this morning was with Claudia Crawford, the head of the London office of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, a leading German think-tank. This was followed by a visit to the Centre for European Reform for an exchange of views on current challenges facing the European Union.  She then participated in a roundtable discussion at the European Institute at the prestigious London School of Economics with members of the research staff there.

At a working lunch the Minister briefed both British journalists and representatives of London-based European media on the Government’s approach to engagement with the EU agenda and on Irish domestic economic developments and in the EU context.
