Minister Seán Sherlock hails All Island Co-Operation in Derry

Minister of State for Development, Trade Promotion and North-South Co-operation, Seán Sherlock, TD, is in Derry today to address key businesspeople and visit the North West Regional Science Park.

Minister Sherlock said:

“The economic regeneration of Derry has been remarkable, and it is now home to a host of international companies who have developed world class facilities with the support of a highly educated and motivated local workforce. I am very happy to have this opportunity to visit the city and to see the sites and projects that have underpinned this transformation.

“A positive legacy has emerged since Derry hosted the City of Culture in 2013, and there is an air of confidence and vibrancy which I am delighted to experience at first hand. This morning I spent some time with the Apprentice Boys of Derry and I am very grateful to them for extending this invitation to me”.

Minister Sherlock will speak at the Londonderry Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner this evening. Also speaking at the event will be Gerry Kindlon, President of the Chamber, Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and the keynote address will be given by Dave Mosley, President of Operations and Technology at Seagate US.

While in Derry, Minster Sherlock also visited the Loughs Agency and the site of the new Radiotherapy Unit at Altnagelvin.
