Minister Flanagan welcomes successful outcomes in Iran Nuclear Talks

Disarmament, International relations, Security, Minister Charles Flanagan, Press Releases, Middle East and North Africa, 2015

The Minister for Foreign Affairs & Trade, Charlie Flanagan TD, has welcomed the successful outcome of negotiations in E3 + 3 talks on a nuclear agreement with Iran. He commented:

“The agreement to resolve this long running and destabilising dispute is a very important achievement, and I commend all those involved in making it.

“In recent weeks I expressed Ireland’s encouragement and support for a deal.

“I would urge all parties now to get behind this agreement as the only real achievable solution to this issue.

“Nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament have been core priorities of Irish foreign policy since our country played a leading role in bringing about the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty in the late 1960s.”
