Minister Deenihan to Address South West Startup Gathering 2015: Irish International Business Network

Ireland, Irish Abroad, MoS Jimmy Deenihan, Press Releases, Ireland, 2015

The Minister for Diaspora Affairs, Jimmy Deenihan T.D., will address the inaugural Irish International Business Network (IIBN) event in Cork as part of the Startup Gathering 2015 on Friday 9th October.

Speaking ahead of the event, Minister Deenihan said:

“The Startup Gathering is a fantastic initiative which I am delighted to support in its championing of entrepreneurs and innovators in regional hubs around the country.

“It is great to see the IIBN bringing its wide network and connectivity to the south west of the country.

“It is important that networks like IIBN reach out to all parts of the country whenever possible, and I commend them for being part of the Startup Gathering here in the south west.

“The aim of the Startup Gathering is to foster a culture in Ireland that nurtures talent and allows companies to start, scale and succeed.

“One of the key enablers of this is establishing and fostering connections that reach outside of Ireland and around the globe.

“The Government’s Emigrant Support Programme, administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade, has supported the IIBN in a number of successful initiatives which have helped Irish people build their connectivity, reputation and presence in Ireland and overseas.”

Minister Deenihan’s opening address will be followed by an afternoon of panel discussions on starting and scaling businesses, featuring successful entrepreneurs from the region.
