Minister Coveney welcomes Top Rating for Passport Service in CXi Survey


The Minister for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr. Simon Coveney TD, has welcomed the findings of this year’s CXi survey released earlier this week, which placed the Passport Service as the top ranked Irish public sector in terms of customer experience.


The 2017 CXi survey reviewed a total of 152 brands across ten different sectors in Ireland. The survey evaluated how well organisations in each of these sectors delivered good customer experience, understood the needs of their customers and, more importantly, the survey evaluated their ability to deliver top quality customer service.


Welcoming the findings, Minister Coveney said:


“I am very proud to say that this year’s CXi survey recognises that the Passport Service continues to perform very strongly in terms of delivering excellent customer service to Irish citizens across the world.


“Since my appointment as Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade earlier this year, I have been fortunate enough to witness the dedication and professionalism of the Passport Service staff and their commitment to delivering a highly efficient and effective service to Irish citizens.


“As part of the Passport Reform Program, the Passport Service are continuously working towards improving services. Earlier this year, the Passport Service successfully launched the Adult Online Renewal Service on the DFA website, which has continued to go from strength to strength. Over 100,000 passports have been issued through the online system since its launch.


“The Passport Service will continue to focus on innovation from a business and technology perspective and this should further increase customer service satisfaction.”


Minister Cannon added:


“This year has been an extremely busy year for the Passport Service, with unprecedented demand for passports from Irish citizens both at home and abroad. I note that this is the second year that the Passport Service has achieved this ranking and my colleagues can be very proud of their achievement. The Passport Service is an exemplar of how state of the art technology can be used to provide a superb customer service, no matter where in the world your customers are based."
