Urgent Appointment Service for Passport Renewals Launched

27 September 2021An Urgent Appointment Service for Passport Renewal will operate from our public office at the Passport Office in Mount Street, Dublin 2 from Monday 27 September. The Urgent Appointment Service for Passport Renewal will resume in the Cork Passport Office on 22 October, subject to further easing of restrictions on social distancing.

We continue to provide a dedicated same day emergency service for passports. The telephone number to access this service is 01 671 1633.
The Passport Service has remained operational throughout the pandemic. It has received nearly 500,000 applications in 2021, issuing over 300,000 passport since May 4 and currently has approximately 110,000 in process.
Passport Online remains the most efficient way of applying for passports; current turnaround times are 10 working days for Simple Adult renewals, and 15 working days for Complex renewals. We strongly advise against booking flights without a valid passport.
