Statement by Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs on today’s ballistic missile launch by the DPRK
Statement18 December 2022
Ireland condemns in the strongest terms today’s ballistic missile launch by the DPRK, which is the latest in a series of contraventions of UN Resolutions. We call on the DPRK to immediately end its highly destabilising actions, and to engage in meaningful dialogue with the US and Republic of Korea. The DPRK’s actions have created a dire humanitarian situation in the country and underline the pressing need for the international community to hold the DPRK to its obligations under Security Council Resolutions to end its nuclear weapons, other WMD and ballistic missile programmes.
