Review of Ireland's Mission Strategy for Vietnam and the Mekong Sub-Region 2017-2020

Ngoc Nhem, from Da Bia village in Hoa Binh province in Vietnam was supported by Ireland through a community-based tourism initiative to establish a homestay in her ethnic minority area as a source of income for her family.
The Embassy of Ireland, Vietnam has invested in a breadth of developmental, economic promotion, political, consular and public diplomacy activities across Vietnam, Lao PDR, Cambodia and Myanmar. This report is an independent, evidenced-based assessment of the Embassy of Ireland's Mission Strategy 2017–2020 under the criteria of effectiveness, coherence and lesson learning across their five outcome areas. The review was commissioned to inform the design of the new mission strategy (2022–2027), contribute to organisational learning and serve as a mechanism of accountability.
