Vienna Gaels GAA Hurling and Gaelic Football Team Recruiting New Members

Vienna Gaels GAA Club

Vienna Gaels GAA club ushered in a new era last Monday 11 July with its very first hurling training session.

They are eager to recruit new members, male and female adult players of all ages and experience.

Hurling training takes place from 21:00 to 22:00 after Gaelic football training from 20:00-21:00 each Monday, just beside the U2 stop Stadion.

The club's goal for the year is to compete at the Pan-European hurling championship on 10 September in the Netherlands.

Rob McMahon and Darren Gilbert lead the training session and encourage as many people as possible to give it a go and see if they like it. Anyone who has played hockey, lacrosse or even golf is welcome to come down and try a new sport.

meanwhile, the Gaelic football teams have a vital few months ahead with the Pan-European Championship 30 July in Munich and 24 September in Maastricht.

With that in mind, in July-September there will be a second session each week on Wednesdays from 19:00 - 20:30 hrs in Wien Atzgersdorf

Training schedule July-September:

  • Mondays: 20:00-21:00 Gaelic Football, 21:00-22:00 hurling (at the current training pitch beside Stadion - Meiereistraße 20)
  • Wednesdays@ 19:00-20:30 Gaelic football (at Wien Atzgersdorf)

We at the embassy wish the ladies and men's teams the best of luck in Munich this weekend and all the best in their preparations for the Pan-European Championship in Maastricht.
