Where can I access Irish radio stations?
Most Irish Radio stations can be accessed anywhere in the world over the internet with many stations having apps available through iTunes or the Google Play stores.
Longwave 252
In the UK (and in some other parts of Europe) RTE Radio 1 can be accessed at Longwave 252. RTE are in the process of shutting down this service and had planned to switch it off in 2014. However, following much lobbying by emigrant groups particularly in Britain, it was agreed that a longer phased approach is required.
In order to ensure the minimum disruptions to users of the service, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade will fund a consultation process to help RTE to understand the audience of this service and to inform their shut down process.
