Invitation to view ‘Casement in Kerry: A Revolutionary Journey’ exhibition

As part of the Ireland2016 centenary commemorations programme, Kerry County Museum has produced a wonderful exhibition entitled Casement in Kerry: A Revolutionary Journey, which will be displayed at the Consulate of Ireland for the duration of the month of August.

The exhibition guides the visitor through Casement’s fascinating life journey; from crown servant, to celebrated international humanitarian, to doomed revolutionary. It explores the repercussions this remarkable man’s brief sojourn in Kerry had on locals, how the failure of his gun running mission affected The Rising, and how his trial for High Treason was prosecuted in London. The exhibition also explores Casement’s posthumous legacy.

In festival spirit, the Consulate will hold an open viewing of the exhibition on the afternoon of Monday 22 August from 2pm to 5pm – all are welcome to attend.
