Our Role

We work to promote and protect Irish interests through strengthening the economic, cultural, community, and educational links between Ireland and North of England, including the Northwest, the Northeast, and Yorkshire and the Humber.

Doing Business with Ireland

Promoting Irish economic and business interests is a crucial part of our role. We work closely with Irish state agencies, key networks and partners to promote trade, tourism and inward investment.

Irish Community in Great Britain

We work closely with the Irish community in Britain including through our Emigrant Support Programme. The Irish community plays an important role in raising awareness of our culture.

Tracing Your Roots

Of the estimated 70 million people of Irish descent living outside of Ireland today, many are unsure of where in Ireland they originate from, or if there are any living relatives still there.

Visiting Ireland

Ireland remains a popular tourist location with 11.3 million overseas visitors in 2019.
