Consular Region

The Consulate General was opened in 2000, to promote Ireland's interests in Shanghai and the four surrounding Provinces - Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Zhejiang and Anhui, with an estimated total population of 253 million people.

East China is a very important economic hub in China with a dynamic industrial, services and educational base. There are over thirty Irish companies with a presence in the region and over fifty agreements with higher education institutes.

The Consulate works closely in an Ireland House hub in Shanghai with Enterprise Ireland, IDA Ireland, Bord Bia and Tourism Ireland.
