1916: The Irish Rebellion – Irish Film Festival screening

Chauvel Cinema, Sydney

8 April 2016 – 6.30pm

The Consulate is delighted to work with the Irish Film Festival to bring this screening of Pat Collins and Ruan Magan’s documentary to Sydney. With narration by Liam Neeson, the film tells the dramatic story of the events that took place in Dublin during Easter Week 1916.

A collaboration between Notre Dame University and the Government of Ireland, the documentary tells the story of the 1916 Easter Rising in a comprehensive way and, for the first time, places these events in their proper historical, political and cultural context as the precursor to an independent Irish state and the disintegration of colonial empires worldwide.

For more information on the documentary visit the dedicated University of Notre Dame website. Tickets are available for the Sydney screening directly from the Chauvel Cinema website.
