As part of the Australian and New Zealand 1916 - 2016 Commemorations, the Embassy of Ireland is delighted to support the National Celtic Festival's Children’s Theatre production, in collaboration with Irish Theatre Company BarnStorm Theatre.

BarnStorm Theatre will headline the Theatre Program at the National Celtic Festival in June 2016. BarnStorm have been commissioned to produce and present a major theatre piece called The Messenger in Ireland for the key commemorations of the 1916 Rising. As part of the collaboration and work in Australia, BarnStorm will provide workshops and readings of The Messenger, exploring the Rising from the children’s perspective.

The National Celtic Festival (NCF) is an annual Festival held in Portarlington, Victoria over the three day long weekend in June. The Festival caters for all ages for a diversity of cultural groups, and families.
