The aim of the seminar is to highlight Roger Casement’s humanitarian work in the capital of the Amazon Region, an area in which his work continues to have resonance in support of the human rights of indigenous people. Manaus was built on the profits of the rubber boom and this boom period brought both great wealth and inequality to the region.
