Working Holiday Agreement

Ireland has a Working Holiday Agreement with Chile, which allows 100 young Chileans annually to take extended holidays in Ireland for up to a year, and to take employment as an incidental aspect of this stay. The aim of the scheme is to allow young Chileans to work and study English or Irish; and to introduce them to the people, culture and landscape of Ireland. Participants will have one year from date of issue of the authorisation to enter Ireland.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2019 WHA PROGRAMME ARE NOW CLOSED. The programme will open again in early 2020.

Guidelines

The work and holiday visa may be issued to Chilean citizens who meet the following requirements at the time of submitting the application:

  • They are Chilean citizens and holders of a valid Chilean passport;
  • They are aged between 18 and 30, both inclusive;
  • They are not travelling accompanied by dependent family members, unless they have their own visa;
  • They have not previously taken part in the Programme;
  • They have no criminal records;
  • They have sufficient funds for their maintenance during the initial period of their stay; have a return ticket to their home country or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket (€1,500 with ticket, €3,000 without). They may be asked to provide proof of funds upon entry to Ireland
  • They hold medical and accident insurance including hospitalization and repatriation for the duration of their stay;
  • They pay the consular fees of the relevant visa.

Applicants are reminded that, upon obtaining a Work and Holiday Visa, they will be authorized to stay in Ireland for a maximum period of twelve (12) months, non-renewable. They may leave and re-enter Ireland and work, provided it is not a permanent job. They may also study or train during their stay.

Irlanda tiene Acuerdos de Visas Working Holiday con Chile, que permiten a 100 jóvenes chilenos una vez por año una estadía prolongada en Irlanda de un máximo de un año, y trabajar –como una opción en esta experiencia-. El propósito de este programa es permitir a estos jóvenes chilenos trabajar y estudiar Inglés o Gaélico, como también introducirlos a la gente, la cultura y los paisajes de Irlanda. Los participantes tendrán un año a partir de la fecha de emisión de la visa para ingresar a Irlanda.

LA PROGRAMA DE LAS WHA 2019 CHILE-IRLANDA YA ESTÁ CERRADO. Se abrirá de nuevo a principios de 2020.

Formulario de Solicitud WHA 2019

Lineamientos

La Visa Work and Holiday podrá ser emitida a ciudadanos argentinos que cumplan con los siguientes requisitos al momento de enviar su solicitud:

  • Ser ciudadano chileno y tener un Pasaporte Chileno válido y vigente;
  • Tener entre 18 y 30 años de edad, ambos inclusive;
  • No viajen acompañados de familiares dependientes, a menos que éstos tengan su propia visa;
  • No hayan participado previamente en el Programa;
  • No tengan Antecedentes Penales;
  • Tengan suficientes fondos para solventar el período inicial de su estadía; tengan un pasaje de vuelta a su país de origen o suficientes fondos para comprarlo  (€1.500 con pasaje, €3.000 sin él). Es posible que se les solicite demostrar los fondos al momento de su ingreso a Irlanda.
  • Tengan seguro médico y contra accidentes, incluídas internación y repatriación, por el total de su estadía;
  • Paguen el arancel consular correspondiente a la visa.

Se recuerda a los Postulantes que, al obtener la Visa Working Holiday, estarán autorizados a permanecer en Irlanda durante un período máximo de doce (12) meses, no renovables.  Podrán salir y volver a ingresar a Irlanda y trabajar, siempre que no se trate de un empleo permanente. También podrán estudiar y capacitarse durante su estadía.

El envío excesivo de mensajes o llamadas telefónicas será motivo de descalificación para el programa.
