Can I apply online?

An Irish citizen who has held an Irish passport within the past five years, and who has fewer than 12 months' validity remaining on their current passport, can now apply for a renewal of their Passport Book and/or Passport Card online at https://www.dfa.ie/passportonline/.

It is also possible to apply online if your passport has been lost, stolen or damaged, but your application may take a little longer to process. In this case, the requirement to have fewer than 12 months' validity remaining on your current passport does not apply.
