Message from Ambassador Frank Flood

As the current Irish Ambassador to Estonia since, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the website of the Irish Embassy in Tallinn.

Estonia and Ireland have a great deal in common including our love of music, the arts, traditional song and dance, and sport. While we are both relatively small countries at opposite sides of Europe, we have shared interests in such areas as agriculture, education and information technology.

The role of the Embassy is to help build on our shared cultural interests, values and the excellent relations between Estonia and Ireland, particularly as two active and committed members of the European Union and the international community.

The Embassy also works to promote trade, tourism and investment between Ireland and Estonia. In this context, the facilities of the Embassy are available to Irish individuals and companies working under the aegis of our semi-state institutions including Enterprise Ireland, Bord Bia and Tourism Ireland.

While the Irish community in Estonia is relatively small, it is a very friendly and active community. The Embassy also works to support the cultural activities of the Irish community in Estonia and to provide consular assistance as required. The provision of Irish visas to Estonian residents, as appropriate, is a central part of our work.

I hope you find this website interesting and helpful. Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to Contact Us

With best wishes

Frank Flood
Ambassador of Ireland to Estonia

Teachtaireacht ón Ambasadóir Frank Flood

I mo cháil mar Ambasadóir atá creidiúnaithe le déanaí chun na hEastóine ó Éirinn, is cúis áthais dom é fáilte a chur romhat chuig suíomh gréasáin Ambasáid na hÉireann i dTaillinn.

Is mór an méid cosúlachtaí atá idir an Eastóin agus Éire, lena n-áirítear an grá atá againn don cheol, do na healaíona, don amhránaíocht agus damhsa traidisiúnta, agus don spórt. Cé gur dá thír réasúnta beag is ea muid in dhá chearn den Eoraip, tá leasanna comhroinnte againn i réimsí amhail an talmhaíocht, an t-oideachas agus teicneolaíocht na faisnéise.

Is é an ról atá ag an Ambasáid cabhrú le tógáil ar na leasanna cultúrtha agus na luachanna atá againn araon agus ar an gcaidreamh den scoth idir an Eastóin agus Éire, go háirithe inár gcáil mar dhá bhall ghníomhacha, thiomanta den Aontas Eorpach agus den phobal idirnáisiúnta.

Bíonn an Ambasáid i mbun oibre freisin chun an trádáil, an turasóireacht agus an infheistíocht idir Éire agus an Eastóin a chur chun cinn. Sa chomhthéacs sin, bíonn áiseanna na hAmbasáide ar fáil d'Éireannaigh agus do chuideachtaí Éireannacha atá ag obair faoi choimirce ár n-institiúidí leathstáit, lena n-áirítear Fiontraíocht Éireann, an Bord Bia agus Turasóireacht Éireann.

Cé go bhfuil an pobal Éireannach san Eastóin réasúnta beag, is cairdiúil agus is gníomhach an pobal é. Bíonn an Ambasáid ag obair freisin chun tacú le gníomhaíochtaí cultúrtha an phobail Éireannaigh san Eastóin agus chun cúnamh consalachta a sholáthar de réir mar is gá. Tá soláthar víosaí Éireannacha dóibh siúd a bhfuil cónaí orthu san Eastóin, mar is iomchuí, ina chuid lárnach den obair a dhéanaimid.

Tá súil agam go mbeidh an t-eolas atá sa suíomh seo úsáideach duit agus go mbeidh suim agat ann. Má tá ceist ar bith agat, ná bíodh drogall ar bith ort Teagmháil a Dhéanamh Linn

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Frank Flood
