The Greek-Irish Society Christmas Lunch Party in Glyfada

A great afternoon was had by all at the Greek Irish Society Christmas Lunch. A broad selection of the Irish community (young, older and even older) attended and enjoyed the great food and Christmas cheer. The children were engrossed by two wonderful children’s entertainers. There were also two special visitors: Ambassador Kilkenny and Santa! The Ambassador, attending his first Christmas lunch with his wife Hanora, thanked the Irish for welcoming him to Greece with open arms and said that he looked forward to getting to know the community.

Santa, who was an even more keenly anticipated guest (if that is possible), received a rapturous welcome and proceeded to distribute gifts to all the children. Some of the adults tried to sneak into the gift giving ceremony, but were promptly dispatched by Father Christmas, who was, of course, a Greek… St. Nicholas!
