Ambassador presents credentials to President Papoulias

Ambassador Noel Kilkenny presented his Letters of Credence to His Excellency, Mr. Karolos Papoulias, President of the Hellenic Republic.

The ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Athens and the Ambassador was accompanied by the Embassy’s diplomatic team. The short ceremony was followed by a meeting where the Ambassador was able to present Ireland’s view on some current issues. The President was accompanied by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs with Special Responsibility for European Matters, Dimitris Kourkoulas.

Ambassador Kilkenny is Ireland’s 10th Ambassador to Greece. He is looking forward to engaging with the Greek Government and people on matters of common concern. Ireland is committed to deepening and broadening our relationship with Greece and Ambassador Kilkenny is eager to spearhead that effort. He is accompanied in Greece by his wife, Hanora O’Dea Kilkenny.
