Concert of Irish music in Vilnius

The “House of Puglu” will present a fabulous evening of Irish music and songs, performed by Denis McLaughlin and Pia Nygaard. Denis and Pia play a very broad spectrum of Irish folk music. The love, the hunger, the oppression, the hope and joy of Irish history is conveyed through the music.

Pia Nygaard is one of the best violinists in her field, educated at the Academy of Folk Music in Odense. Her on-the-road experience gives her an amazing versatility on the violin.

Denis Mc Laughlin on the other hand has a lifetime of musical experience, starting his journey at 14 years of age first in folk and then rock, country, and pop. Hailing from Derry city in Northern Ireland he has built a tremendous repertoire of songs, the ballads, the power, the humour, love and war, grief and happiness. Denis Mc Laughlin is not new to Lithuanian audiences, having appeared at the “Tai-aš” festival in Vilnius in former years and toured the country.

Pia and Denis deliver their music with great expression and passion playing on guitar, violin, bouzouki, bodhrans (Irish drum) and bones.
