Irish Culture

By showcasing our heritage and our contemporary culture, we reap long-term benefits for Ireland and we build bridges with our partners and friends in Lithuania.

Culture & Heritage

Our culture

Ireland's culture is a unique national strength and a source of strong links between Lithuania and Ireland. It's one of our greatest competitive advantages, a "door opener" that converts into jobs, trade, investment and tourism. It’s also an effective way of connecting with the Irish community and with Lithuanian partners and friends.

What we do

We're involved in a range of cultural activities, which raise awareness of Ireland and also enhance our ties with Lithuania. We promote cultural relations through a number of initiatives. For details of our specific initiatives and events, look at our news feed and follow us on Twitter.

Trace your Irish roots

Some 70 million people around the world claim Irish roots. If you are one of them, there are a number of ways you can celebrate your heritage and discover more about where you come from.  There are now a number of valuable online tools which can help with this, including Irish Genealogy and the census returns from 1901 and 1911.

Our commitment

We are committed to strengthening our relationship with the Irish people and people of Irish descent worldwide and to promoting what is best about our country.

In working together, we will ensure the continued respect and admiration in which Irish people and our culture are held worldwide.
