How to Apply for a Passport

Apply Online

Irish citizens who have previously held an Irish Passport can now apply for their Passport Book and/or Card online.

You cannot apply online if you have already submitted a paper application.

If you are resident outside Ireland and do not qualify or wish to use the online system, you need to use an APS2 application form.

If you are resident outside of Ireland and do not qualify for or wish to use the online system, you need to use an APS2 application form.

It is available in Irish (APS2G) and in English (APS2E).

APS2 forms are available:

  • By calling to the Embassy during office hours
  • Contacting us (include your name and full address in the form) and we will post you the forms

Fees

The fee depends on the type of passport you apply for:

Adult 10 year €95
Adult large 10 year €125
Minor, age 0 – 17 years, 5 year passport €45
Emergency Travel Document* €30
Additional Fees  
Out of hours fee** €80
Passport Certification Fee*** €40

We do not accept cards at the Embassy, but you can pay in cash.

We are open Monday to Friday between 09:00 - 13:00 and 14:00 - 17:00.
