Ambassador William Carlos

Dia dhaoibh go léir. Fáilte go Ambasáid na hÉireann!

Ambassador William Carlos presenting credentials

I am delighted to welcome you to the website of the Embassy of Ireland in Mozambique which I hope you will find useful and informative. In addition to providing information on the services provided by the Embassy, it is a source of facts on Ireland and Mozambique, and on the links between our two countries. Ireland has a long-standing and strong relationship with Mozambique. Our bilateral ties now cover many areas – cultural, political, development and economic. We have, since 1996, a vibrant and high impact development cooperation programme in Mozambique, focusing on the areas of education, health, social protection, and governance. In addition we operate two provincial programmes in the provinces of Inhambane and Niassa.

The wider Sub-Saharan Africa region has been recognised as having major potential for Irish exporters. In line with Ireland’s recent policy review: The Global Island: Ireland’s Foreign Policy for a Changing World  the Embassy is committed to deepening our engagement with the private sector and we are doing so, for example, through our work with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in Mozambique, which, we hope, will facilitate two-way trade and investment.

If you believe that the Embassy may be able to assist you in exploring opportunities for trade with Ireland or in Mozambique please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Irish nationals require a visa to enter Mozambique. Travellers arriving from countries without Mozambican representation, such as Ireland, have been able to purchase single-entry visitors’ visas valid for 30 days at the airport or other points of entry. However, the Embassy of Ireland strongly recommends that Irish citizens obtain visas in advance from the High Commission of the Republic of Mozambique, 21 Fitzroy Square, London W1T 6EL, telephone: + 44 (0)20 7383 3800, or in the country where you are based.

Please be aware that any advice received from the Embassy of Ireland in Mozambique is unofficial and should be verified with the Mozambican authorities.

Do chéad fáilte go dtí suíomh gréasáin Ambasáid na hÉireann i Mósaimbíc. Tá súil agam go mbeidh an t-eolas atá sa suíomh seo úsáideach duit. Chomh maith le faisnéis a thabhairt faoi na seirbhísí a chuireann an Ambasáid ar fáil, tá fíricí sa suíomh a bhaineann le hÉirinn agus Mósaimbíc agus leis na naisc idir an dá thír seo againne. Is ann do chaidreamh láidir idir Mósaimbíc agus Éire le fada an lá. Clúdaíonn an ceangal eadrainn a lán réimsí, idir ghnéithe cultúrtha, ghnéithe polaitiúla, ghnéithe forbartha agus ghnéithe geilleagracha. Ó 1996 i leith, tá clár comhair bríomhar ardtionchair againn i Mósaimbíc, atá dírithe ar an oideachas, an tsláinte, leas sóisialta, agus rialachas. Ina theannta sin, feidhmímid dhá chlár cúige in Inhambane agus Niassa.

Tá réigiún níos leithne na hAfraice fo-Shaháraí sainaitheanta mar cheann ina bhfuil a lán deiseanna le tapú ag onnmhaireoirí Éireannacha. Ag teacht leis an athbhreithniú beartais a rinne Éire le déanaí, An tOileán Domhanda: Beartas Eachtrach na hÉireann maidir le Domhan atá ag Athrú, tá an Ambasáid tiomanta do dhlús a chur faoin rannpháirtíocht atá againn leis an earnáil phríobháideach agus táimid ag déanamh amhlaidh, mar shampla, trínár gcuid oibre leis an Aireacht Tionscail agus Tráchtála i Mósaimbíc. Tá súil againn go n-éascóidh an obair sin don trádáil agus don infheistíocht eadrainn.

Má cheapann tú go bhféadfadh an Ambasáid cabhair ar bith a thabhairt duit maidir le deiseanna trádála le hÉirinn nó i Mósaimbíc a iniúchadh, ná bíodh drogall ar bith ort teagmháil a dhéanamh linn.

Ní mór víosa a bheith ag náisiúnaigh Éireannacha chun teacht isteach go dtí Mósaimbíc. I gcás lucht taistil a tháinig ó thíortha nach raibh ionadaíocht acu i Mósaimbíc, ar nós na hÉireann, bhíodar in ann víosaí aon-uaire do chuairteoirí a cheannach a bhí bailí ar feadh 30 lá. Bhíodar siúd le ceannach ag an aerfort nó ag pointí iontrála eile. Mar sin féin, molann Ambasáid na hÉireann go láidir do shaoránaigh Éireannacha víosaí a fháil roimh thaisteal dóibh ó Ard-Choimisiún Phoblacht Mhósaimbíc, 21 Cearnóg Fitzroy, Londain W1T 6EL, teileafón: + 44 (0)20 7383 3800, nó sa tír ina bhfuil tú bunaithe.

Bí ar an eolas go dtugann Ambasáid na hÉireann i Mósaimbíc comhairle uaithi ar bhonn neamhoifigiúil agus gur chóir an chomhairle sin a fhíorú leis na húdaráis i Mósaimbíc.
