Minister of State Eoghan Murphy visits Singapore

Eoghan Murphy, TD, Minister of State for Financial Services, eGovernment, and Public Procurement visited Singapore on 20th-21st September to promote Ireland's financial services as well as to meet with a number of Singaporean business and political figures.

Minister Murphy launched the "IFS IRELAND" banner brand to raise awareness of Ireland as the destination of choice for specialist financial services and as a gateway to the wider European market. The Minister also encouraged participation at the European Financial Forum which takes place on 24th January 2017 in Dublin Castle.

This launch, as part fo the Minister's wider Asian programme, is a ket deliverable of the Government's IFS 2020 Strategy. Now in it's second year, this Strategy is driving the growth of international financial services' in Ireland with the target of adding 10,000 jobs to the sector by end-2019.

Minister Murphy held bilateral meetings with Senior Minister of State, Indranee Rajah as well as with Jacqueline Loh, Deputy Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

The Minister also delivered a lecture at the National University of Singapore entitled 'From financial crisis to Brexit - an Irish perspective'.

Minister Murphy continued on his visit to Shanghai and Tokyo.
