Irish Tech Challenge South Africa

Tech Challenge 2023

‌The Embassy of Ireland in South Africa, the Department of Science & Innovation (DSI) and the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA) have established the Irish Tech Challenge South Africa to incentivise mutually beneficial partnerships between Irish technology expertise and South African entrepreneurs/businesses and to support innovation, technology development, and technology deployment/commercialisation in South Africa.

South African Tech entrepreneurs are recognised to have the potential to be major drivers of innovation, economic growth, job creation and poverty alleviation. Those tech entrepreneurs whose products/services are ready to scale globally, face barriers in the form of limited resources, high technology costs, access to networks and infrastructure.

The Irish Tech Challenge South Africa offers high-growth tech entrepreneurs the opportunity to leverage benefits from partnering with relevant Irish ecosystem players, given Ireland’s growing role as a global technological hub, offering access to European and international markets.

What the fund offers:

  • A 10-day business networking programmein Ireland with access to top tech-leaders’ expertise and a chance to make global connections.
  • Funding of up to €10,000 for each entrepreneur selected.
  • Acceleration/mentorship support for entrepreneurs to position their global growth strategy.

Applications are now open:
