What should I do if I find a passport which I have reported lost or stolen?

Never travel on your passport if it has been reported lost or stolen. You run the risk of being stopped at border crossings, as Interpol keeps a record of all reports of lost or stolen passports. You should return the passport to either of the Embassy’s offices in Cape Town and Pretoria, or to the Passport Office in Ireland:

Embassy of Ireland
P.O. Box 4174
Pretoria 0001
South Africa

or

Embassy of Ireland Liaison Office
19th Floor, LG Building
1 Thibault Square
Cape Town

or

Customer Care,
Passport Office,
Freepost PO Box 9718,
Balbriggan,
County Dublin.
