Do I need a passport to travel on internal flights in Ireland or South Africa?

It is not necessary to have a passport for individual travel within a country but some form of official photographic identification is normally required by airlines before they will permit you to board. Please contact your airline to find out about their specific requirements. If travelling on a passport, it must be valid.
