Can I get my passport today?

Passport application take time to process though a temporary passport may be issued in emergency circumstances only.

All passports are produced in Dublin.

The processing time for passport applications submitted in Tanzania is normally 8 weeks from the date a fully completed and correct application is received by the Embassy. This may vary, however, depending on overall volume levels being processed in Dublin.

A temporary passport can only be issued on the day in the case of an emergency situation (the death or serious illness of a family member). In all other circumstances, you will have to wait a minimum of five working days to obtain a temporary passport. Valid proof of confirmed travel (e.g. airline ticket/email) must be presented in order for any application to be processed sooner than the standard turnaround. You may incur an additional fee. Please contact us immediately if you require a passport urgently.

Citizens should apply for a new passport if their passport has less than six months validity left or if the visa pages remaining are few.
