In November 2015 the Minister for Diaspora Affairs, Jimmy Deenihan T.D., announced the launch of a pilot summer camp programme for students.
The initiative will provide younger members of the Irish diaspora with the opportunity to visit Ireland on a short immersive visit in the summer of 2016. The programme will be primarily education in nature and designed to encourage students to develop a deeper connection with Ireland.
For the pilot phase the programme will be available to high school students aged 15 - 17 years based in the US only. Full details of the programme, including information on how to apply, can be accessed at the Global Irish Summer Camp website
