Gender Equality in Europe: Are we there yet?

On 1 February each year, Ireland celebrates St. Brigid’s Day and the creativity and contribution of Irish women around the world.

This year, as we also mark 50 years of Ireland’s membership of the European Union, the Consulate General of Ireland in Frankfurt, will bring together a panel of trailblazing European women to reflect on the positive changes that have taken place both in Ireland and in Europe in the area of gender equality over the past fifty years.

Our excellent line-up of panelists will consider, from both a professional and personal standpoint, the changes they have experienced over the course of their careers relating to gender equality, and will also set out their views on where further progress is required – particularly in their fields of business, finance and politics – and on issues like the gender pay gap:

• Petra Hielkema, Chairperson, European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA)

• Eileen O’Sullivan, Head of the Department for Digitalisation, Citizen Services, Participation and EU Affairs of the City of Frankfurt am Main

• Mary Campbell, President of the German-Irish Chamber of Commerce and former Head of Operations in Ireland for Deutsche Bank

• Claudia Rasper, Partner at Boston Consulting Group

Please join us for what promises to be a lively and interesting discussion and to share your views and experiences too.

The event will be followed by a networking reception. Register via Eventbrite here.
