Hong Kong has long had a well-established and active Irish community, which currently numbers in the region of 3,000 people. There are also significant numbers of people of Irish Heritage based in Hong Kong. In addition, we are lucky to have an extended Irish community here made up of people from Hong Kong who have lived, worked and studied in Ireland before returning here. There is also a small but influential community of Irish people based in Macau.
We would encourage newcomers to Hong Kong and Macau, or other people based here who are interested in getting to know more about Ireland and Irish culture, to get in touch with one of the many Irish community, cultural and sporting groups based here.
