In advance of the opening of the new Consulate General of Ireland in Miami during October 2022, the incoming Consul General, Sarah Kavanagh, attended a networking event during the 2022 Kidscreen conference.  Kidscreen is a major animation conference which usually takes place every Spring in Miami.

During this year’s Kidscreen conference, a special networking event was hosted by the Consulate General of Ireland in Atlanta, Enterprise Ireland and Animation Ireland with support from Northern Ireland screen.

Speakers at the event included the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Miami-Dade County, José “Pepe” Diez and Commissioner Eileen Higgins.  Both Commissioners spoke warmly of Miami’s relationship with Ireland and looked forward to the opportunities for greater collaborations offered by the opening of the new Irish Consulate.

Attendees included Irish producers and creators and network executives who were participating in Kidscreen as well as political, diplomatic  economic and community partners and friends of Ireland.

Thank you to all attendees for the warm welcome to the incoming Consul General.
