Team Ireland shines at the WorldSkills competition in São Paulo

The WorldSkills competition took place in Anhembi Park, São Paulo from 11th – 16th August, and Ireland’s team of 14 competed in areas including Aircraft Maintenance, Automobile Technology, Beauty Therapy, Cabinet Making, Carpentry, Construction Metal Work, Electrical Installations, Industrial Control, Joinery, Plastering and Dry Wall Systems, Plastic Die Engineering, Plumbing and Heating, Restaurant Service and Welding.

Official visit to Minas Gerais

In conjunction with Embassy Brasilia, Enterprise Ireland and Education Ireland, the Consulate undertook an official visit to the State of Minas Gerais, focused on opportunities in education, sport, education, agriculture and trade. In the first official Irish mission to Minas Gerais, Consul General Sharon Lennon, accompanied by Ambassador Brian Glynn, visited the cities of Uberlandia, Belo Horizonte and Juiz da Fora.

Reform of the International Education Sector and Student Immigration System

Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O'Sullivan T.D. leads a visit to Brazil

During the St Patrick's Day period, Minister for Education and Skills, Jan O'Sullivan completed a six day trade and education mission to the Brazilian cities of Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, São Paulo and Campinas. This was the first time an Irish Minister has led a St. Patrick's Day mission to Brazil.
