How to apply for a Passport

Our How to Apply for a Passport Guide takes you through each step of your Irish Passport application.

You can't apply online but the guide will answer some of the most common questions like:

  • what form you need and where to get one
  • documents you need to include
  • photograph requirements
  • witnessing an application form
  • how to submit it
  • passport fees and how to pay

Remember:

Read all the sections of the application form to make sure you have filled all the information correctly, including photo requirements and how to get the form witnessed properly.

Many applicants fill out the form incorrectly, leading to delays in the processing of their application.

Application Forms

If you are resident outside Ireland, you will need to use an APS2 application form.

It is available in Irish (APS2G) and in English (APS2E) at the Embassy of Ireland in Croatia. You can either pick up the form at the Embassy or call or Contact Us to send you one. The form is not downloadable.
