The debate team from Presentation De La Salle Secondary School in Bagnalstown, Co. Carlow, Ireland, recently visited Denmark following their success earlier in the year at the Concern Debate series.

Concern Debates Champions visit Embassy

The four members of the Presentation De La Salle Secondary School debate team, Beatrice Kelly, Saoirse Power, Brianna Walsh and Caoimhe Cummins were accompanied by their teacher Ita Doyle and also Geraldine Carroll from Concern Worldwide. The team were visiting Denmark in conjunction with the English Speaking Union, which organises a debating competition for Danish schools, conducted through English.

During their time in Copenhagen, the Irish team had the opportunity to test their skills against their Danish counterparts, as well as being able to visit a number of sites in the Copenhagen region. The Embassy was pleased to be able to welcome all of the participants in the events and hope that we are seeing the beginnings of a new collaboration between schools in Denmark and Ireland.
