Uilleann Piping Inscribed onto UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative List
Uilleann Piping became the first Irish element to be inscribed onto UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on Thursday the 7th of December 2017 at the 12th Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, which took place in Jeju in the Republic of Korea.
