Mayor of Vilnius visits the Embassy

Ambassador Noonan welcomed the Mayor of Vilnius, Remigius Semasius, to the Embassy today (13 October) to address a meeting of the European Business Network. The Mayor gave a presentation on the future of Vilnius, outlining the strategic direction of the city in the years to come.

Irish theatre group 'Macnas' to perform at Vilnius Culture Night

The Embassy of Ireland, in cooperation with Culture Ireland and Kulturos Naktis, is pleased to announce that the Irish theatre group ‘Macnas’ will take to the streets of Vilnius this Friday, 19 June, as part of the Culture Night celebrations. Macnas, an award-winning international performance and spectacle company takes its name from the Irish word for “joyful abandonment”.   

Irish Exhibition at Lithuania Design Week

As part of the Year of Irish Design, the Embassy of Ireland is pleased to cooperate with Lithuania Design Week, and Irish Design 2015 to showcase the work of some of Ireland’s leading designers.  Joining other exhibitors at the ‘Energetikos ir Technikos Muziejus’ (Lithuania’s Energy and Technical Museum) in central Vilnius, the focus of Design Week’s events, the Irish exhibition consists of a series of photographs on the theme of ‘Designers at work’.

Greening the river Vilnele for the St. Patrick's Day celebrations

On Saturday, 14 March, the river Vilnele in Vilnius was once again ‘greened’ as part of the celebrations of St. Patrick’s Day.  Approximately one thousand people turned out to see the spectacle, lining the banks of the river in central Vilnius.

Concert hosted by the Embassy to celebrate St. Patrick's Day

The Embassy hosted a concert and reception in the National Philharmonic on Tuesday, 17 March, to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.  Approximately 200 guests attended the event, at which the Irish traditional music group ‘Patrick’s Holm’ played.
