Irish or not, the world goes green on St Patrick's Day! 17 March is a time to celebrate, and here are the best St Patrick's events taking place in Norway this month. Here's a list compiled by Tourism Ireland and the Embassy of Ireland to Norway on what's going ahead in Norway in the next fortnight.

Paddy's Fringe Festival

16-19 March, Oslo

Paddy's Fringe Festival, featuring a series of Irish related cultural events will take place in Oslo around St Patrick's weekend. This exciting festival will include music, an Irish Documentary Film Festival, Kids Irish Film Festival as well as literature and arts events. St Patrick's Day Parade, Oslo

18 March from 12:00, Jernbanetorget, 0154 Oslo

Once again, the Oslo St. Patrick's Day Parade promises to be a great day when people come together and celebrate all things Irish in this part of the world! The parade will leave from Jernbanetorget at 12 noon (sharp), ending at Universitetsplassen. This year, the after-party will be at Posthallen, which is the very impressive old Norwegian general post office, just off Karl Johan's gate. Dress up and join in for a good day of craic! The St Patrick's Day Parade After-Party

18 March form 14:00, Posthallen, Prinsensgate 8, 1059 Oslo

This family event will start after the parade. This year, the event will feature a more varied line-up than ever, including Magician Chriss, St Patrick story-telling, Mná Singers, Saoirse singers, Irish dancers and Irish rock musician, Eamonn Dowd. There will also be a face-painting corner, as well as lots of raffle prizes throughout. Irish Evening with Gatehouse

Celebrate St Patrick's Day with a concert by one of Ireland's best folk bands. Enjoy Irish folk songs, lively tunes and a great atmosphere. St Patrick's Day Children's Event and Parade, Bergen

19 March from 14:00, Finnegans Bar, Chr. Michelsens gate 10, 5012 Bergen

Are you ready to celebrate in your finest green? Join the Bergen Irish Society on 19 March to celebrate all things Irish. The event will begin in Finnegans bar at 14:00 where children can make St Patricks Day badges and hear the story of St Patrick followed by a mini Chéile.
