Consular Fees

The following is a list of the most commonly charged fees for Consular Services carried out by the Embassy of Ireland in Lisbon. For further services, please see the full list of current consular fees

For verifying or certifying a photocopy of any document


For certifying a translation


For issuing a certificate to an Irish citizen in connection with a marriage abroad 


For issuing a certificate in connection with a marriage abroad submitted to the relevant diplomatic mission or consular office 28 days or less before the date of the intended marriage (additional late fee) 


For issuing any other certificate or declaration


Foreign Birth Registration (FBR) including issue of certificate for persons over 18


Foreign Birth Registration (FBR) including issue of certificate for persons under 18


For each signature attested by a diplomatic or consular officer in any document where a fee is not otherwise provided for


For administering an oath or receiving a declaration of affirmation, with or without attestation of signature


The Embassy accepts the following methods of payment:

  • Postal orders (which can be obtained from your local post office and made out to "Embassy of Ireland" or "Embaixada da Irlanda")
  • Credit/Debit cards if applying personally at the Embassy.

The Embassy does not accept cash payments, personal cheques or bank drafts.
