Can I apply for a passport while on holiday in South Africa?

Passport applications must be submitted in the country in which the applicant is normally resident. Irish citizens resident in South Africa must therefore apply to the Irish Embassy in Pretoria, or via the Embassy’s liaison office in Cape Town.
