Applicants resident in Switzerland and Liechtenstein should apply for a passport online. Applicants resident in Algeria should contact the Embassy for further details.

Opening Times

Passport and Consular Services for Irish citizens.

The Embassy is open to the public for general enquiries and those relating to passport and consular services for Irish citizens during the following hours: Monday to Friday, 10.00 to 12.00.

Directions to the Embassy

Kirchenfeldstrasse, 68, Bern.

To travel to the Embassy by public transport, take the train to Bern and from the main train station, take Tram no. 7 (Direction Ostring) or no. 8 (Direction Saali) to Thunplatz. The stop at Thunplatz is in the middle of a roundabout. The Embassy is located 150m downhill on Kirchenfeldstrasse, on the left hand side of the road. To travel to the Embassy by car, take the motorway to Bern, leave the motorway at the exit for Bern-Ostring. At the traffic lights, choose the direction of "Zentrum", then follow signs for Lausanne, passing through two roundabouts onto Kirchenfeldstrasse. The Embassy is on the left hand side of the road. There is limited parking on the side streets near the Embassy.
